Cancer information
Support with cancer is available to the whole of Bassetlaw but research is telling us that farmers in particular are not getting checked as regularly as they should do, and often ignore or don’t notice early symptoms that could make a huge difference to treatment success if there is a cancer diagnosis.
Aurora Wellbeing Services
Aurora is a local charity providing free cancer support at their community centres in Bassetlaw, Doncaster and Mexborough.
Aurora is not just people affected by cancer, they are a community resource and for a suggested donation, anyone can access their services.
They offer a holistic approach, and their support looks at emotional and physical wellbeing, also beauty treatments and therapies to help improve health outcomes. If you are a patient, family member, carer or friend, they are here to help.
They are a team of experienced professionals, volunteers, fundraisers and supporters – working together to help make sure everyone in Bassetlaw and Doncaster affected by cancer gets the help and support they need.
They understand that everyone’s cancer experience is different and welcome people at the point of diagnosis, during treatment and beyond. Some people choose to visit many years after their treatment has come to an end. The right time to get in touch is when you need them.
